Before joining Region 18 in 2022, Marissa King served in a variety of roles in Ector County ISD for 17 years. During the time in Ector County ISD, she served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and the supervisor of state assessments. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University, and a Master of Education in Special Education:Autism from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She also obtained principal certification from Region 18.
